Nina & Gino

Nina and Gino have been growing their own vegetables, herbs and fruit in the tropics for the last 30 years in that time gaining a lot of experience and knowledge about growing food in this climate. I visited their garden in the Cairns suburb of Statford on a beautiful winters day to try and gain some knowledge and insights for all those who would like to do the same.
I was struck first when I entered around the back with a beautiful sea of colour revealing Nina's passion for propagating and selling Desert Roses a truly beautiful flower to grow in the tropics..................................................

Great to have a fnq gardening blog. As i live in the area i have looked for others but haven't had any luck. we're not fanatical backyard gardeners but the more local info the better. enjoying your items in the paper too.
