Okra

A food plant you may not be familiar with, that grows and produce very well here in the far north is Okra, known also as Gumbo amongst others.
Okra produces the most beautiful flowers of any food plant on my suburban Urban Farm. The flowers only last one day gradually opening at fist light till fully open at about 10.00am, closing soon after pollination. Okra is one of the few self pollinating plants. Pollen is dropped on the stigma of the same flower that produced the pollen..................
