Urban farming has been growing rapidly - worldwide more than 800 million people are engaged in urban agriculture to some degree. Urban farms not only deliver fresh produce the same day it is harvested, with lower transportation costs and the use of less fertilizer and water, they can absorb a significant amoumt of solid and liquid waste, reducing urban waste disposal problems and costs.
