There seems to be a lot of confusion amongst gardeners as to the size of a hectare acre etc. Hope this clears things up. Some times you'll see application or production rate per hectare which does not mean much to the back yard food producer.
A typical backyard plot is say 3m x 1.2m giving 3.6 square metres which is 0.036% of a hectare.
