Pest Control & Balance

Pest Control & Balance

One of the greatest pleasures I have as a food growing besides harvesting and cooking is observation. Early morning walking around the garden and observing the interactions between insect’s spider’s, bees and birds. Something our ancestors did for thousands of years becoming their classroom.
By observing your garden you start to accumulate knowledge this may not come to the fore at that particular time but down the track you may be reading or thinking and you say yes and the dots start to connect as nature start to reveal itself to you.
I know food grown on soil that is moist and alive with microbes brimming with nutrients is far less susceptible to attack by pests than one that is in soil lacking things. I’ve observed it over and over again as the plant starts to age and has not been harvested at its peak the pests start to move in and attack.
